When I try to reboot from the preferences menu, I get this message:

As far as I can tell, the disk and the two partitions are in order:

When I try to use the Option key during boot-up method, it fails to bring up the boot menu.

For the record, I updated both the EFI and to 10.8.2 in the same go, using the update in the App Store. I also had rEFInd installed, which I don't think could have done anything to result in this, though I am not entirely certain.

I also updated both in one go, and holding alt during bootup and selecting windows works fine for me.

Does yours also work when you try to select the startup disk to the Bootcamp partition in the system preferences?
