iPhone 5 battery life [Merged]

Took me 6 hours and 30 minutes of straight game playing, picture taking, and iMessaging to go from 90% to 0%

Depends on how you have it set up. If you have email set to push often, and a lot of syncing to icloud, battery will drain faster.

RE: Battery life. It's awesome, much better than my 2 year old iPhone 4.

I had it plugged into the Mac yesterday while setting it up, was plugged in copying music, etc, while I was playing with it.

Has been unplugged ever since, used it for a few hours last night, several hours today. Been connected to Wifi, browsing, Flipboard, Facebook, a few texts/iMessages, a couple of short (1-2 minute) phone calls, a few games (Words With Friends, SocialChess, etc...), BlueTooth to speakerdock for 30 mins.

Currently at 14% remaining:

"Time Since Last Full Charge" stats:
Usage: 7 hours 41 minutes
Standby: 20 hours, 47 minutes

Will run it down to 0 and do another full charge, but yet another aspect that I'm very impressed with.

I'm starting to notice the battery life draining a little quicker then the iP4 for sure on my 16gb iP5. And what sucks is i'm gonna have to take the charger with me to work and back since I can't get another one for 2-3 weeks lol.

The battery life on my iPhone 5 is better than my 4 or 4S. Could to be more happy. Give it a few days and RELAX.

although my 4S would get 1/2 day while jb'd and "a day" of moderate use

i'm truly impressed with 5: out of box, 12 hours of almost constant use and 5 hours standby over night!

Usage: 1 Hour, 44 Min
Standby: 4 Hours, 14 min

I'm at 65%!!!

Exactly my case. I'm curious, what is your carrier? Did you start as new?

AT&T LTE....I set it up as new on my Macbook. but sync with icloud to get my contacts back..

Make sure that Bluetooth is turned off if you're not using it. mine was on right out-of-the-box

This occurrence seems to be most common with LTE. It seems alarming. Someone should do a poll or something.

My battery life is dreadful, this is from light browsing on 3G and using the twitter app. How bad is this?

Been over an hour of just texting(most of what I do) and hasn't dropped at all. Very happy so far.

Surely it's a hardware thing? It's so bad it must be a rubbish battery.

I had this type of battery life with my 4S as well.

My battery life is awesome so far. The phone seems to charge very quickly as well (now on 2nd charge).

Could be a hardware or software issue. If you do a full restore and set it up as now and the issue still isn't resolved then I would look at getting it replacement.

There's no reason setting up as new should improve battery life if you end up using the same settings.
