Is image rendering new in Safari/10.8.2 when page zoomed?

In previous releases if I used Safari and did apple + or AllPagesZoom it seemed that the webpage pics wouldn't render and stayed pixelated when I zoomed up to 135-150%.

Now, it seems that they start choppy but smooth out when my page is zoomed.

Is this new for 10.8.2?

Whatever it is is awesome...
