and cancel their home internet ISP? I'm just wondering how feasible this is on a data throttling side (im on aT&T unlimited...) and in terms of just how reliable it can be

Already done on Verizon. Love it and it was cheaper over two years to buy the phone than to pay monthly for Comcast internet. Have yet to be throttled, even on launch day for the iPhone 5. Was using a Razr Maxx for the last few weeks prior to getting the new iPhone.
