I know, I know, the iPhone 5 just came out, but I'm still thinking about what the next iteration might bring, considering I'm one of the iPhone 4 hold-outs (I have to pay the unsubsidized price since I'm on T-Mobile so my phone better be darn good).

Here's my prediction:
-Die shrink to around 20nm meaning Apple can add 2 more cores to theoretically double the performance while keeping the same power consumption.
-Adds NFC

Other than that, can't think of much. Overall, in the long run I think Apple will focus more on efficiency than performance with graphene batteries coming in probably the iPhone 6, along with a much anticipated tear-drop design. What do you think?

The same thing it brings year after year...

Better camera, faster processor, maybe new storage options.

I heard the lightning adapter will be able to spew out money when you need it. It's apples way of not using NFC to pay for things..

Hopefully better camera. Bring the aperture down to a 2.0 from the current 2.4. Less grain in low light photos, 10-12 megapixels? More memory (32/64/128) and better battery.

Fingerprint recoginition

Instead of typing a PIN, how great would it be to unlock your phone with fingerprint sensor? I would love to see that in the 5s.

Do you ever think phones will get to a point (like computers) where the technology is so good that people will keep it for generally more than 2 years? Like maybe we'll see free iPhones with a 4 year contract.

it doesn't matter how good a phone will get, there will always be people who want more. just as I'm sure there isn't a billionaire who is content with their wealth and decide to stop making more money. its human nature to always want more.

Giant PITA.

I've got a number of fingerprint readers (different types). They are all too finicky. I like my tried and true passcode.

It'll bring something that the current model can support but won't because of an artificial limitation.

I'm betting some sort of -gate. I personally would like us to move on and start using something else. How about affair? I can see it now, "The Wifi Affair". :D
