Every time I get a new iMessage the app launches (showing the Messages window). I'm totally okay with notifications in notification center; I want those to stay, but want Messages.app to just stay closed unless I open it. How can Mountain Lion do that.

Thank you for your help,
Joshua Smith

set in imessages preferences, select the checkbox to "When i quit, set my status to offline" and it should be fine. notifications should still pop up in the notification center but it won't automatically open the program.
