I recently upgraded my iphone 4S to IOS 6. There is a website that I visit often that houses old mp3 files of a podcast that I listen to. Before the upgrade I would click on a link and safari would launch quicktime and the mp3 files would stream just fine. Now when I click quicktime launches and the mp3 files will play but inexplicably about half way through the clip it will just skip back to the beginning and start all over again. Has anyone else encountered a similar glitch? Needless to say it is very frustrating and I can no longer stream mp3s directly from the internet. I have also tried this in Chrome, only to encounter the exact same problem.

Have you tried this with other links/networks, or just the one?
My first guess would be that specific file starts playing before it has enough data buffered to finish playback without interruption. If the file has played through all buffered data available, but is unable to keep pace ahead of playback, the file can sometimes restart playback from the beginning, while trying to complete the full buffer.
This can sometimes be a file/link error, or more commonly, you may have other services running that are reducing the bandwidth capacity of your Internet connection, thus requiring additional time to complete the required data buffer.
You can try shutting off other internet services or downloads while you test this, or even different files/links on different networks, to see if this is consistent.
If you post the link for others, they can tell you if they experience the same problem.
I usually stream using data instead of wifi, but have encountered the same problem with both. Before I upgraded, if the file was not fully loaded it would simply stop and finish buffering and then it would start again from that same spot. I have literally been streaming for months from this site, and I even went back to files that I streamed previous to the upgrade that had worked before, only to encounter the same problem. Also I noticed that technically the files are m3u files, but all that is, is an itunes playlist file the redirects to the mp3.

Anyone else heard anything about this, I host a couple podcasts on my site and ever since iOS6 I've seen an extremely unusual amount of partial downloads of those files. I was just told by a user today that anytime they try to stream off of my site to their iPhone that this exact behavior where it would play for a minute or two and then start over would happen.

I am having the same problem as several other bloggers. I recently upgraded to IO6 on my iPhone 4S. Now when I attempt to listen to any archived MP3 file (typically a radio program), the segment will stream perfectly in Quicktime for about 5 to 7 minutes and then it skips back to the beginning of the program. This happens regardless of which radio station is the source of the MP3 file (have tried six different stations -- i.e., it ain't them, it's my iPhone that is not working properly). My wife and I were reaffirming our wedding vows in bed last Sunday morning and I was not free to stop the stream as I would normally do, so it kept playing and skipping back. Curiously, each time it did this, it would play an additional minute or two of the program before it skipped back to the beginning. I was quite the tiger that morning (if I do say so myself), and eventually (after 6 or 7 skipbacks), it nearly played the entire hour-long show.
