hardware test - macbook air

Does anyone know how can I run an hardware test for a macbook air? I tried to hold the D key when restarting but It won't find any wifi around..

Are you trying to test for WIFI signal?

Just open network in System Preferences and turn on WIFI and watch to see what is found. Select the one that you want and go from there.

Im having a random issue from waking from sleep. I read to do the hardware tests its usually on the restore media that comes with the computer.

I would be interested to know how to perform the Apple hardware test on Mountain Lion with any type of physical media!
