This idea makes no sense. If you buy one of these, how do you get it from place to place? Do you buy one for every location you plan to "visit"? This guy goes from work to a gallery by picking it from a list on his iPad. How is looking at a gallery image on a screen through this contraption any different than looking at images on a web page. No, $2000 device required.
This has to be a joke. If not, someone is seriously confused about the needs that people have. Either that or they have been watching too many episodes of Big Bang Theory.

Either way, this is the last thing people need. Another excuse to sit on their backsides and wonder why they get fat and lazy.

omg that's so bad ass. Can you imagine how well this product will do in the telecommunications market. I mean technically people could go see museums super far away and view it from their ipad. Amazing.

Looks like a more refined version of the contraption ("virtual presence device") on The Big Bang Theory.

Yea like a museum could have like 10 of these and people could pay through their iPad to unlock access to it. They they could have like 2 hours with it to rome around the museum from their iPad in their own house. That would be cool.

Why is an $$$ iPad need as the head of that thing instead of a simple camera?

The iPad isn't just acting as a camera, it's also processing the instructions from the remote end, controlling the wheels and elevating stand, etc. So you need a CPU, wifi card, etc.

The makers obviously are not fans of 'Doctor Who'. If it won't go up stairs, or even small curbs, it has limited use. Just ask a Dalek.

Daleks fly. This was implied in "The Chase" (1965), show explicitly in Revelation of the Daleks (1985) and in every subsequent appearance of the Daleks.
