I have an original Bose Sounddock and I was wondering what iPods or iPhones are compatible with it. I tried the iPod Touch 2g and although it played it didn't charge. The reason I'm asking is that I heard some horror stories of the dock possibly bricking iPhones due to a different pin configuration.

Can anyone shed any light on this? I'd hate to shelf the speaker as it produces truly excellent sound.
