EA has yet to announce pricing...
Since when has there ever been a big surprise pricing-wise for big-budget games?

I am so looking forward to this.

And I know I'm in the minority when I say that the online requirement is a feature that I enjoy. I like being connected to my friends when I play games.

really? why would this be? i'd think single player would be by far the most played mode

Buildings must be on roads (for power/water/etc)? There goes the idea of a car-free city with bike lanes and monorails everywhere

i don't mind if its not single player, but the moment it starts sounding like it'll be pay for this, pay for that...

the freemium thing is ridiculous now, yes i have a few i 'play' but really, all they are is a game where you pointlessly click stuff, no skill, no way to screw up and more importantly not much fun!

Simcity was about the first game that looks interesting in ages but its always the same, the more they hype it up, the worse the game turns out to be.

It looks good but it will be utter *****

There is an always on internet connection.
You can not trash your city and start again as saving is to the cloud and as such you can not do that.
The "region" you play in will have other players cities, so you could be reliant on them to get goods and services to your city.

Sadly what could have been a great game has been ruined, I will stick with SC4 and all the great add ons and gfx mods

I loved playing sim city 4. I just hope they don't add a bunch of typical EA junk and make it awful

My expectations are low. The last time I played a SC game (4) it was as if they were trying to merge with The Sims *shudders*. And this one doesn't sound too good with the lack of single player and (from the looks of it) small city size.
I'll stick with 3000 for now.

SimCity has always been one of my top favorite games.
There are abandonware versions of them for Mac. No need for BootCamp.

Some kind of EA DRM + Cider; I think I'll pass even though it should be a great game, these things prevent me from buying other EA games, because those things cause more horror than joy.

According to Simtropolis and SC4Devotion, this will be a decent game for casual gamers, but likely won't have all the features people love from SimCity 4. Also, this "small city" will likely be the only sized city you will be able to play. I'm going to give it a try, and hope it is as good as it looks.

Wow. Amazing graphics. So suddenly I understand why the city people come to the country and try to force zoning on us. Ants. Suddenly I am a proponent of free birth control. Sad to see them building up all that land.

I like how he chooses a wind farm for his power source, extolling its green virtues, and then chooses to deal with the sewage problem by dumping it in the forest.

I was interested in this game, but not with always-online DRM.
