Texted pictures not loading......

I have Verizon for the iphone 5 and full service and when I get pictures sent to me via text i click on them and the screen goes black with the little spindle circling and says loading... They never load. The only way i can view them larger is by saving them to my camera roll.

is this a software, carrier or hardware issue?

Anyone else experiencing this??

hard reset fixed it.
