Might be a failing hard disk, I would recommend you to keep a very recent backup for a while, better back up everyday.

Called apple care they said it could be the HD.
They had me do a reset where you unplug the power for 1 min and turn it back on.
I dont hear the noise now but still made an appt for the genius bar..

Do you have a recent backup, if not do so before you go there, they might change the HDD and if they do you won't get the HDD back.
