iOS Xcode telnet code

I am using Xcode 4.5 and would like to know how to connect from an iPhone to a telnet server, send commands and read the reply from the server.

Looks like there are various options out there, NSStreams, Asyncsockets and SmallSockets etc.

Has anyone out there done this before. Do you have sample code that I could use to get started.

Any help would be much appreciated.
