Also the new iPod touch does not stay completely still in use when laid flat compared to 4th Gen. Wobbles a little bit.

Earpods that come with new iPod Touch don't have a remote!

If you watch the video closely starting at 3:55, you'll see that the Earpods that come with the iPod touch don't have the remote/microphone. I honestly find this upsetting.

But they don't even sell the earPods without remote - it's a slight shame they went out of their way to give the new iPod touch an inferior pair than you can get in store, as the remote is one of the things that really makes a difference with a touch based iPod!

You find this "upsetting" when every touch sold for the last 2 years has also been sold without remote/microphone earphones? Why were you assuming there would be a change is the type of earphones shipped with the touch?

They included a random loop, it just seems tight they skimped on the remote!

This is so disappointing. $199 device? Sure.

1. No A6
2. Worse screen
3. They even made the A5 weaker! 512MB of RAm
4. No light sensor
5. No vibrations
 
The fact they didn't included earphones with remote and mic is nothing new. Last iPod touch that came with them was iPod touch 3rd gen. Since then only earphones without mic and remote.

1. A5 dual core is a significant advancement over the previous gen touch A4 single core.
2. Screen is an improvement over previous gen touch.
3. Memory is DOUBLE that of previous gen touch.
5. No vibration in previous gen touch. Sept announcement did not mention addition of vibration, so why would anyone expect it?
6. If you want an iphone, then buy an iphone!

1. No one complained A5 was slow. Much faster than the previous A4 chip.
2. Worse screen? Worse than what? Where did you hear that?
3. Twice the RAM of iTouch 4G
4. Granted, but not a major loss.
5. iTouch never had these before.

Much worse camera when taking pictures than iPhone 4S. The image is blurred compared to iPhone...

The 4S is 8mp, the iPod Touch 5g is 5mp, we knew this all along.

The camera on the iPT 5g is FAR superior to that of the 4g (0.8mp)

The cost is $299 for the new Touch :D.

2) I thought it had the same display as the iPhone 5. How is it worse ?
3) How is the A5 in the Touch worse then the A5 in the iPhone 4S ? The geekbench on the Touch appears to be similar to the geekbench on the iPhone 4S.
 
Kinda lame I'm spending $400 on upgrading a device and it will be worse in some ways. Auto-brightness was somthing I used all the time cause I use the iPod touch everyday.

It's not about megapixels. They must have used worse optics than 4S. Of course it's much better than iPod touch 4th gen. Still, they could've done better:(
 
Oh. My mistake. This is the first ever iPod Touch I'm getting. I've gotten iPhones in the past. All along, I thought they were including earphones with remote/microphone. Well, they've succeeded. I'm gonna buy the Earpods that come with the remote/mic in the Apple store.
 
If I buy the new touch I'll sell earpods and just use the earphones with remote and mic that came with my iPod touch 3rd gen. But I aint sure if I'm gonna get it. I thought iPod touch 5th is much less inferior than I expected. The lack of ambient sensor, camera nub and poor quality camera photos is bugging me... Guess the only really good thing about the new touch is the screen which is on pair with an iPhone 5.

A5X is also substantially physically larger, far more battery hungry, and hotter than the regular A5. It'd be impossible to fit something like that in a device as small as the iPod touch. Please stop embarrassing yourself.

A5X is a different slightly larger chip :

It also wasn't manufactured as a Package on Package meaning the SDRAM isn't included on the A5X chip but is instead a separate module :

The Ram's on the other side of the board from the A5X. The chipworks breakdown don't show a place for the SDRAM while the A5 chipworks breakdown does.

Look at the flower petals. iPod touch photo lacks detail and sharpness. It can't be simply explained just the difference in megapixels. iPod's camera lacks some optics quality vs iPhone.

I had seen the photos but... well now I can see a different but obviously you have better eyesight than me :p

I think it's enought for me. I only want it for quick photos and small videos of my baby when I'm out so I won't need to carry my Canon everywhere...

That picture looks ok for me... I think... :confused:
