Faulty rMBP?

Hello everyone. I have a situation here with mr rMBP...
One month ago, it started displaying dead pixels. It got really bothering: I brought it to the Apple Store and couldn't wait one week for it to get repaired (I'm a college student, and midterm tests were approaching). The Genius bar told me that my LCD Panel was faulty.
Since then, many other problems have appeared... The computer won't close normally (see attached picture) and the screen sometimes goes MAD (dims down by itself, multiple "lines" appear...).
I have purchased Apple Care, do you think I could get a NEW rMBP? Needless to say that I have never had any accidents with it (no dents or anything)

Yes, coupled with the dead pixels I think you have a strong case for a replacement here, but you do have to let the genius bar look it over first. That means leaving it with them, so you need to make arrangements for college work etc.

Thank you very much for your reply, I really appreciate it. I think I'll pay a visit to Grand Central's Apple Store tomorrow. Luckily I have an iPad with Pages on it, I think that'll do the trick! ;)

Frankly you should have returned within the first 14 days, as the display and housing are clearly misaligned. Apple will definitely correct the issue, how long it takes is another issue. Apple is unlikely to offer a new machine unless you can persuade someone to help you. BTW if there is any physical damage it will be a non runner as Apple will likely walk away, unless you are sat in front of a sympathetic "Genius"

The failure of your computer to close properly doesn't just "appear" one day. This is a unibody construction, your frame is obviously bent. That doesn't just happen one day, it's the result of physical abuse. Your rMBP would never have left the factory bent like that. I suspect this computer has incurred some damage AFTER it was purchased.

I was thinking the same....

BUT, not to call the OP a liar, if I was in your situation (couldn't be without the computer for long), I would do one of a few options.

Leave it with Apple, go to bestbuy (or any other store with a longer than 14 day return policy), and buy the cheapest apple laptop (put it on a credit card). And then return it.

Or find a cheap older MacBook on CL/eBay, and sell it once my rMBP was back. Shouldn't lose more than a few dollars on that.

First of all, thanks to everyone for contributing: your comments are really useful.
I guarantee that NO DAMAGE of any king was inflicted after purchase. If it had been the case, dents or proof of impact would be largely noticeable. I know this is a very strange situation, but I don't even know what could possibly bend aluminum. The only thing I could think of for the moment is when I bring it to school, but once again it is well protected in a sleeve...

Was the frame bent like that when you bought the machine? Why in the world would you keep that computer for months if it was bent like that?
