Annoying Mouse/Clicking Issue

I am currently having the issue of my computer holding onto a click after I clicked it. I.e. I click on a folder and it seems it does not register that I depressed it so it keep holding onto it. Pressing ESC repeatedly it then releases the folder/driver or file. I am able to click on text boxes and icons on my dock and they all work perfectly. However, once I click on a drive or folder I lose activity to my mouse.

I have tried repairing permissions, is there anything I can do to fix this problem. it is killing me.

Resetting PRAM and SMC does not fix problem

Turning off mouse and kb does not fix problem.
