Hi there.

We have several Retina MBPs in our video production company and we have a really bad track record with docks for our hdd on the retina, and we are tired of throwing away money on docks that doesn't work with the Retina.

So far we have tried:

- Sandberg USB3 single HDD dock (works but is falling apart because of the bad quality)
- RaidSonic ICY BOX IB-120CL-U3 (does not work on Retina MPB)
- Zalman ZM-MH200 U3 (does not work on Retina MPB)

They all work on old USB2 macs, but they don't show up at all on the new retina (except for the Sandberg, but they are literally falling apart after 3 months - not worth it.)

Do you know of any docks that works with the retina and has USB 3?

Best regards,

Thor

Look at this dock.

Blac X 5G.
it is the only USB 3.0 dock to support UASP (USB Attach SCSI).
It has the ASMedia chipset/controller.

I have a blog post on my blog about it:
http://fortysomethinggeek.blogspot.com/2012/10/blacx-5g-usb-30-update-fastest-usb-30.html

I was able to get Thunderbolt speed on this dock. This is the only dock I know that can do this speed w/ a Samsung 830 SSD
