Here's my situation and any help you can provide would be extremely grateful...

I purchased the iPhone 5 from AT&T when it came out even though I wanted to go to Verizon. However we couldn't because of the ETF's on our family plan with other lines.

I'm wondering if when the other lines' contracts are up in January could I break even by selling my ATT iPhone 5 on eBay and purchasing a new one from Verizon. I would have to pay an ETF for ATT as well because my line will be the only one still under contract.

Reason for switching: AT&T in Michigan is a joke, plain and simple. My friends 5 on Verizon held LTE all the way from Kzoo back the the east side of the state while I lost service and even had edge at some points.

My device and plan: iPhone 5 32GB on 4GB shared plan.

If you are paying only one ETF ($350) and can sell the iPhone for $600 - you should have $250 left to pay for your subsidized iPhone 5 from Verizon....

Don't see a problem here.

Plus doesn't you ETF drop $10 a month? It may only be $310 or so when you quit.
