does the base mini have a spare drive slot since it doesnt have a dvd drive?

if so would sticking an ssd into the spare slot and putting my OS onto it make a big difference ?

looking on FNAC website they have 14 different models, some of which are

crucial M4 SATA3 64gb 79.99 (how do i know if this fits a 2.5 inch slot?
kingston SSD now v200 notebook 64gb 89.99 euro
verbating Disco SSD 128gb 109.90 euro

would this help with gaming or just starting up and loading apps?

I have owned and used dozens of ssds. they will improve your 2012 macmini.

2 suggestions go bigger then 64gb or 128gb.

really look into 180gb by intel 240gb by intel

or 256gb by samsung or crucial. if you do not want to do an install look at this item

I would suggest the bigger one. it can be your boot drive and the internal can be for storage/backup
