My computer was out of comission for a while, and when I got it back and tried to backup my ipad, it wasn't showing up in iTunes.
It will, however, play the sound that have set to play whenever a device of any sort is plugged in, and show up in the 'My Computer' area.

I uninstalled iTunes, and any other Apple related software on my computer. Then when I tried to re-install it, it starts out normal, then it tells me that there were errors, my system has not been modified.

Is there any way I can fix this? If there isn't, are there any programs that are very close to doing what iTunes does? I need to be able to backup my ipad, sync things to it...The usual i suppose.

The only new things that were on my computer was a new video card since my old one 'blew up'.
