Another day, another problem.

So this time, I opened my iTunes, and instead of my iPhone appearing in the sidebar, it asked me to 'set up as a new iphone' or restore from 'unknown'. It said my phone was last backed up 01/01/2001. Obviously incorrect.

I plugged my iPhone in via usb, and thought maybe this way would work. It allowed my to bypass the set up as new/restore screen, but now it has bundled everything that is one the iPhone into 'other' ie, the yellow on the status bar. Music, video, apps etc dont even appear. What gives?

Anyone shed any light on where to go from here?
