OS X programmer sought for XBoard
The open-source Chess interface XBoard exist in a Linux and an MS Windows version. The Linux version can in principle be used on Mac, but people tell me that this is inferior to having a native OS X application.
It should not be too much work to port XBoard to OS X. XBoard is written in plain C, and its code is structured such that it has a very good separation between front-end GUI code and platform-independent 'business logic'. I just finished porting XBoard from the old and highly obsolete X11 widget set to GTK+, and it only took slightly over a week to replace the GUI code by its GTK equivalent. (The result you can see here.) I can't make an OS X port myself, though, as I have no Mac, nor did I ever have one, and know nothing about OS X. So I hope that someone here would be interested to work on this.
