Seriously, anyone know?
You didn't bother to read the article did you? iFone trademarked iPhone two years before Apple trademarked the iPhone.

And yes there have been products before the iMac that used a lower case i in their name so if anything Apple stole the i from them.

Oh, and "i" stands for Internet.

Even as a devout Mac fan I find it hard to sympathise with Apple here. Particularly considering how they copied/stole (depending on your point of view) their own company name & logo.

Apple has got all the time in the world to play lawsuits - lawsuits as they are already not innovating anything.

I remember when Apple focused on making great products and being the leader in innovation. I didn't know all the money would be used to later sue the entire world. I miss the old days when Apple wanted to be the best by producing the best - not by stopping everybody else.

This just in - Apple is now suing E.T. and Steven Spielberg for its use of the phrase "E.T. phone home", in the movie E.T..

If Apple wins the case, speculation is that the 30 year old movie will have to be edited to the new phrase "E.T. dial home".

People think we all live in Igloos in Canada. I went to one of those medieval shows in LA, and easily convinced the person handling drinks (I think alcoholic drinks) that the ice was melting in Canada, and we needed some free ice to repair the igloos. Not all people in the US think like this. It's just funny when they do though. It might even happen in other countries, but since I've only traveled to America, I could only try it there.

Apple is being a bully. If I were the iFone company I would ask for $1B in payment for the rights to use the iPhone name in Mexico. Sorry, business is business.

This completely Apples fault they brought this upon themselves, they deserved it. They sued this company FIRST even though they new that iFone was registered 4 years BEFORE iPhone.

Apple is getting more arrogant, seriously stop suing everyone and bring us something new, minor spec bumps aren't doing it for me anymore, arrogant greedy apple seems like they are focusing on suing rather than innovating

Get over it, Apple. Concentrate on making great products, that's all you need to succeed. Stop picking on smaller companies.
Didn't anyone ever taught you to "NEVER GIVE UP"?

Well said. They do behave like complete arses sometimes. Some great hardware, (I'd say software, but lately I'm unconvinced), but they don't always play well with others - customers included.

Just because they weren't making phones etc doesn't mean Apple weren't popular. You remember the iPod right?

Didn't say they "owned" the "i" but I had said they made it successful and everyone jumped on the bandwagon.

Why are we even arguing? This forum is bizarre.
