Controlling Mac Mini with iPad?

I plan to use my Mac mini as a headless server connected to my main HDTV for viewing movies etc.
However, for the odd occasion I wish to use the Mac mini locally, rather then purchasing a wireless keyboard and trackpad, is there an app where I can use my ipad as a wireless keyboard and trackpad instead?

Try iTeleport. App for the iPad/iPhone, simple connection program on the mini. Requires a gmail account.

Splashtop should work.

Any VNC app for the iPad should work. I've had good luck with Jump Desktop. You just need to turn on Screen Sharing on the Mac (System Preferences / Sharing).

Can you control the Mini from an iMac? And, could one set up a Mini with an VPC app?

Lots of VNC apps for iPhone/iPad available. Did you search iTunes?

Is Apple's official response.

LOTS of reports of receiving Mini Servers without Screen Sharing enabled.

If you don't have a monitor handy, you can always use a TV with HDMI to do the initial config and turn Screen Sharing on.

OS X has this built-in. If Screen Sharing is enabled on a Mac, then other Macs on the same network should see that Mac in the sidebar of Finder windows. You click on the shared Mac and then click Share Screen. It's pretty simple.

I'll add a +1 for iTeleport. I also have Splashtop, but I find iTeleport's interface easier to use on the iPad.

I use logmein. It's free! Works great over the last year I've been using it.

Since you already have a "monitor" for it, you could just use a trackpad app such as "Mobile Mouse". These will let you control the mouse cursor as well as type using the on-screen keyboard.
