By much more functional do you mean half the speed /ram ,weaker battery,no a6x chip,or new beast graphics card ,and the slight jailbreak lag? I'm loving my iPad 4 first iPad for me and I think I made the right choice really loving the screen and speed :

I agree OP. I won't consider a new one until its jailbroken. When/if it gets jailbroken I'll get a 4

most jailbreakers won't admit it but pirated apps.

Actually, no. I have over 100 extensions installed and the only one coming close to piracy related is Pandora Downloader
