[OS X] PS3 Controller Sync Problem

I can't seem to get my PS3 controller to sync to my MacBook Pro that I just bought from apple last month. Can someone please post how they did it? I've been having trouble with it all night, and I just went and bought this PS3 controller new so I could play games on my MBP but it won't pair.
