No.. I'm sure that you aren't the only one doing that. The prices don't go down because there is not option yet to buy till the new model appears in the store.
By other side the old model is more upgradeable than the new one, so I think that... if somebody has enough time to upgrade the old model is a good option, more affordable.

If i were you, i would wait a couple of weeks (I think the new model will be available in that time lapse) and you could get the previous model at less price
