IMAC 27" hard drive issue
i got the letter about the recall on the seagate hard drives for the IMAC. i decided to just replace it myself instead of driving 4 hrs to the nearest apple store. So i purchased another seagate harddrive but the fan noise is extremely loud. Is there something i am missing? i did try to reseat the sensor cable on the harddrive and it did go away but now the noise is back. Do i need to get a specific hard drive?

2011 imacs have special firmware on the hard drive, to my knowledge you can't take an off the shelf ordinary drive and flash it with the apple firmware.
