Give away my old 3G iPhone

Hi, I live in the US and I want to give my 2 year-old 3G iPhone to a friend in Poland, would she be able to use it with a local carrier over there? If so, do I need to tweak anything (frequencies etc.) over here before I send her the phone? I'm a complete moron when it comes to phones, please explain accordingly hahaha

If your contract is fulfilled call AT&T.

Will do. I will ask AT&T on Nov. 13 when my contract is up and they give me my new iphone.
