itunes won't open - 10.7 or 10.6.3

Hi all,

first post so sorry for the noobness.

I use a MacBook Pro running OS X 10.6.8

Ok so I got given an ipad2 through work and upgraded my software through the Software Update in Finder.Everything worked ok for about a day or so until perhaps the next time I shut down and started up and from that time (about 4-5days ago) itunes will not open at all.

USB Device: Bluetooth USB Host Controller, 0x05ac (Apple Inc.), 0x8217, 0x06110000 / 5

This is what I've tried so far to remedy the problem...

Uninstalled itunes and reinstalled it about 3 times.

Uninstalled itunes 10.7 and reinstalled 10.6.3 but, that has the same problem and won't open either.

I repaired permissions in Disk Utility 4 times.

I've booted from my OS X install disks and ran a repair of the hard drive in Disk Utility.

I use Quicktime Pro 7.7 so I uninstalled Quicktime and reinstalled it but, to no avail.

So far I can't seem to find anyone experiencing a similar fault online so posting here is kind of desperate last measure. Any and all help will be most appreciated.

OK so I finally found a fix that worked....pheww

The Solution:

moved the DesktopVideoOut.component out of the user>Library>Quicktime folder and WaLa I'm back! Itunes and Quicktime both seem to be working without any glitches...but, I'm left with the DesktopVideoOut.component sitting on my desktop and I really don't know what to do with it? Anyone have any ideas? Not sure if I'll break something if I delete it.
