Screenshot Thumbnail

When I used to take screenshots on my MacBook Leopard and the icon of the screenshot appeared on the desktop , the thumbnail was the actual screenshot and now when I take a screenshot the thumbnail is just an icon of Preview.
Could someone tell me how I can get the thumbnail back?

Try this:
Click somewhere on the desktop to have it be the front-most app. Then, View > Show View Option > Show icon preview.
