How long did it take for you to vote?
I live in Northern California, and it took me no more than 10 minutes this morning on my way to work around 8:00 am. When I walked in my precinct I was the only voter there with a good dozen polls standing empty. Two other people walked in by the time I left.
It seems like an anti-Florida experience, where I've heard of people having to wait for hours to cast a ballot. What was your experience like? How is it possible that we tolerate situations like Florida? Can anybody rationalize why it should take so long to vote? It's deplorable, IMHO. |

I went at 10:30am and stood in line for about 5 minutes. I was the 177th person to vote at my precinct.

I arrived about 8:15 and it took me about 25 minutes. I was the 177th person to vote. Used an optical scan ballot, the only kind available at my polling place.

Last presidential election, I lived here. I had run to the voting center and there was a huge line so I left. I went back later and it took about 30 minutes. This time, we had early voting so I tried to go once and the lines were huge, so went back another day. During midday, it was about half an hour of waiting on thursday.

About 90 minutes to vote in MD.
Also had Diebold Electronic voting machines, no glitches or incorrect ballot casting.

In Oregon we only vote via mail. The ballot took about 10 minutes to fill out and then dropped off in a ballot box on sunday.

Voted by mail. 60 minutes to research the multiple amendment proposals, 5 minutes to bubble, sign, and mail. Received my confirmatory receipt email yesterday.

Took an early lunch to avoid any potential crowds. Took 10-15 minutes tops.

About 45 minutes. I got pulled aside and asked to see extra forms of identification. I'm guessing it was due to my wearing a "I'm gay and I vote" t-shirt here in rural Ohio.

About 15 minutes in line and about 5 minutes voting. We had the choice of electronic or paper ballots.

A few minutes. About 15 seconds to walk over to my precinct. Maybe 20 seconds for them to look me up. No ID required. Maybe 2 minutes to vote on everything. Another 20 seconds for them to check me off on the other side. 5 seconds to slide my ballot into the box. The bulk of my time was spent actually voting. The rest of it really couldn't have gone much faster.
