Is Airplane Mode the same as turning off wifi? Which conserves battery better?
When I am reading via the Kindle app or iBooks, which method is better for conserving battery: turning off Wifi or utilizing Airplane Mode?

Turning off WiFi alone is actually worse, in general. That's because your phone will now use its cellular radio (higher battery consumption) for all its behind-the-scene communications.
OTOH, Airplane Mode turns ALL radios off. so this is the best way to conserve battery. You won't get any e-mail, text, calls, etc. either.
