i would bet that this is a software glitch related to the thumb/ palm detect they added for the mini ipad.

I could only reproduce it in the Mail app, not in Safari for example. (iPhone 5, iOS 6.0.1)

And even in Mail I had to move my finger ridiculously fast. So for me this issue actually doesn't exist.

I have found a solution for this problem:

Don't scroll as if a mad tiger is biting your tail.

It ruined several games. Fruit ninja, temple run, flick home run, infinity blade and others. If it's hardware I'm taking it back for the 4s.

I'm not sure if you're capable of having a conversation... It ****s up when I play these games all the time. It doesn't have to be continuous fast swiping. You obviously don't have any of these games.

I have all of them besides Flick Home Run, and have never had a problem whatsoever. Either you're imagining things or you have a more severe issue than the one posted.

Sure, just like my original post it could be either one. Could be hardware and only certain batches were effected. Hope that's the case, then I'll try a new 5. lol stop trying to be right and just agree it could be any of these opinions that could be the issue.

My main opinion is that the 5's software is different than the 4s so "maybe" it's with apples software version.

The issue is replicable for me in scrolling apps, but I'm not sure it manifested in game in Fruit Ninja - like it's more a bug in scrolling response, not touch screen.

At any rate, I still think it's a knee-jerk reaction. Even if it did ruin those games, I think the phone itself is a marvel and would not downgrade my phone for the handful of software that it would actually manifest as an issue.

Worse camera, screen, form factor, speed, RAM, processor etc for a few games?

True, I probably wouldn't downgrade lol. Just an over reaction and frustration. This person sums it up the best in my opinion.

That's because you never get more than 500 points / game in Arcade.

Try getting 1,500+ points / game .. easy to do on 4S .. hard to do on 5 ...

Try as I might I can not reproduce this on my iP5 64 gig with IOS 6.01. Tried rapid back and forth in both diagonals – no stutter or freeze.
