I have a 15" rMBP and had turned off hibernation mode (sudo pmset -a hibernatemode 0)

After the recent update i see that the sleepimage (8.0GB) file is back and if i delete it, it returns after a reboot.

pmset -g shows that hibernatemode is set to 0 and i even tried creating a 1 byte /var/vm/sleepimage file to see if thats good enough for the OS but that didn't work either.

Anyone have a solution for this?

It's happening to me too

It's happening to me too. No utility or terminal command works to stop the safe sleep image from being rebuilt at startup. Resetting the Pram and SMC don't work either.
