"This Disk is Locked" on a new HDD?

Hi all.

My old HDD died on me. Purchased a new Samsung 250GB HDD. I re-downloaded Lion from the App Store, made it bootable on an external USB drive.

I plugged in and started the Lion setup. However, when it got to the point at which I had to select the HDD on which to install Lion, it said "This disk is locked" of the Samsung internal drive.

If somebody could point me how to get around this, I'd much appreciate it!
