Extending Network with Airport Express

Hey:

Here's my setup:

AirPort Extreme 5th Generation (main network) with 2.4ghz at channel 1 and 5ghz at channel 161
AirPort Express 802.11n 3rd Generation (extends my main network) with 2.4ghz at channel 1 and 5ghz at channel 36

[The network name is the same for both ghz networks]


My question is: does it matter that my 5ghz network is under two different channels?

If I wanted to change the AirPort Express channel for 5gh, how would I do that? I tried to change it via the Windows 7 Airport utility and via my iPhone and iPad, but to no avail.

About your last point. Look at Advanced>WiFi Settings>Radio Channel

Unfortunately, perhaps because its extending the network, the channel selection box is greyed-out and is stuck in automatic mode for the Express. I still have the ability to change the channels for the Extreme, but if my Express is in automatic mode, they wouldn't likely stay the same for too long.
