Two New Will Ferrell Switch Ads

Apple Posted two new "Switch" ads on their website today. The two new ads feature Will Ferrell as Santa Claus.

Santa and Lawyers
Santa's iPod

Will Ferrell was also in another humorous switch ad featured during the MWNY 2002 Keynote.

Hilarious... but

I think they're hilarious, though, I dont think Apple will show them on television, the didin't even post the other will farrel ad, even though alot of people asked for it.

I dont know though, maybe it would do well to show apple's humorous side...

I almost laughed my ass off at those commercials of the PC software making movies, I forget which vendor, maybe dell

I dont buy into it, but the commercials were funny, apple could use a a dose of public humor

esspecially with will farrel

Great

I think the more switch ad's the better, even if they are not so serious as the ones created previously.
That and I love SNL and think that Will is as funny as an encredibly long program that get's X amount of errors because there no semi colon

I never really thought he was that funny until I saw the switch ad he did for MacWorld. That was actually kinda funny. I do like the iPod one (even if Windows gave me an error, and I had to reload the page. Stupid M$), the other one was okay. I used to think he was trying to hard, but watching SNL re-runs I see he was just working with what he had. I mean come-on, the cheerleader thing was just sad, and got old very quickly.

He was just starting to get funny with GW, not to mention the switch ad (they should have shown it on SNL) and that small part in "Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back" (that movie was hilarious, bad language aside).

Then he up and leaves SNL when it seemed to be getting good again.

Ah well, luck to him. Hope he does some more joke switch ads. I wonder if he really does use a Mac? Probably.

Great stuff...glad he's still working.

I doubt they'll be on TV, but damn they're great for us Mac fans!

Two words: Celebrity Jeopardy.

I always thought he was great. He was one of my favorite SNL actors and it was really depressing to see him leave the show. It just hasn't been quite the same.

These commercials are great (especially love the "ass handed to him" bit.) And no one could forget the porn actor! I hope they do air 'em.

I forgot about that one.

His Alex Trebek and Darrell Hammond's Sean Connery were great together. He played a good straight man. I think it was just the cheerleader sketches and some of the early stuff that bugged me. I stopped watching for awhile the season after Phil Hartman died (he was my favorite). I caught some of the reruns, and the early ones with the new cast weren't that funny.

I still think he came into his own on the George Bush Jr. bits - those were funny.

I think he's funnier when he isn't trying so hard.

I don't know...I usually like dry and absurd humor, but...I did not laugh. The santa lawsuit thing is kind of amusing, the ipod playlist has potential, but I somhow expect him to come up with something hillarious and then the spot just flattens out. Oh well, I do like the fact that those switch ads have even less to do with the actual apple products than what we got so far. Come to think of it, the image of a disillusioned, sarcastic guy fits apple pretty well. And seeing a 'highend' 1.25Ghz Powermac on TV would just be too depressing... yes, I am bitter...

Happy holidays !

Downloading QuickTime movies w/o QT Pro

You actually CAN download the movies without having QuickTime Pro. Just open the page in Internet Explorer, let the movie load (do this per movie, or else it won't work), then leave the page open and go look in '~/Library/Preferences/Explorer/Temporary Files'.

Make sure you have 'Save movies in disk cache' turned on in the QuickTime preference pane (under the 'Connection' tab).

Should work...

Much better as a Apple Switch Spokesperson - or maybe unofficial, but still great - especially making it humorous - I can see Apple doing a spoof of their own switch ads using Ferrell in the year to come.

I hope they do more.

Well, for example, the mpeg 4 ones of will don't actually load in IE for X. They simply come up as a text file. Not a very good read.

I just right click download link to disk and that saves whatever file. But if they're refs, I dunno.
