can I upgrade the ram in my 27" iMac 2011 with this type?
I got a stupid question and just did something stupid but am trying to salvage the situation. I just ordered a new mac mini and didn't realize it had to be upgraded with laptop ram, so I purchased 16 GB of this ram,
http://www.memoryexpress.com/Products/MX41401 I ordered it online and am too lazy to go through the whole return process, does anyone know if I can simply just install this ram into my 27" 2011 iMac. I read online that the 2011 iMac model uses DDR3 1333 MHz ram, as this is 1600 MHz does that mean it won't work on my iMac? any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! |

Nope. That is DIMM, you need SO-DIMM (Small Outline). Here is the Apple support page: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4621
