I have an iPad 4th generation and downloaded the Garage Band app solely for recording purposes--lectures (if there is a better app for this purpose I'd love to hear about it). I don't know how to turn off the Count-in feature. I clicked the wrench in the top right corner and turned the metronome and Count-in off but the blasted count-in still happens before each recording. It's frustrating. Thoughts?

Have you tried SoundClouds? The only downside is the free app limits you to about 5 hour recording. You have to pay for the full version.

I don't recommend GarageBand on MacBook. The laptop becomes so hot that the whole class hears my fan. The workaround is to minimize GarageBand window.
