My IPhone 4S keeps downloading apps on its own

Do you or anyone you know have another iOS device associated with the Apple ID you use on your iPhone? It might be that you or them are downloading apps on another device and it's being synced to your phone. If this is the case, go to Settings>iTunes & App Store, and turn Apps off under Automatic Downloads.
