ipod touch 5 and tunes in the cloud

One "feature" I wish Apple would change is the fact that you lose all saved music when you decide to listen to songs in the cloud. Once you listen from the cloud, you lose all of your saved files and have to reload them when not in the cloud. Anyone else find this annoying?

Is there a way to keep songs on the ipod touch 5 when using the cloud for music? I would like to be able to move easily between wi-fi and, for instance, playing songs in my car.
