in my experience, you get what you pay for.

4.99 is great if you plan on changing it after a few months.

the cheap protectors I had before picks up scratches easily and does not feel smooth to the touch like the higher quality ones.

also they are much thinner so idk how great they will be if something like keys hit the surface.

hopefully this isn't the case with those.
