Learning the Technology

Hi.

Just getting into this video stuff. I was hoping someone could direct me to some good material to learn more about it. Maybe some stuff on the creative part of film making, but really looking for more on the technology and getting a good understanding of it (you know, things like codecs, frame rates, chroma sampling, etc, etc....)

I'm fairly technical, so not shy of getting into the details.

Thanks!

Graeme Nattress and Adam Wilt provide a lot of technical info in regards to video.

Here is a link tokenstone.net which hosts a lot of Graeme's articles. And here is a link to Adam Wilt's site.

Mark Schubin also talks about about the technology and nuts&bolts side of stuff. He has a monthly column in Videography Magazine and writes for other publications as well. If you google is name I'm sure you can find some of his articles.

Creative Cow forums and www.2-pop.com are very useful as well. The best way to learn to get your hands on the stuff and play with it.
