AFAIK it is difficult to find 8 GB RAM options for the MBA's with the holiday sales discounts, since they are built to order options.

Search through the independent retailers like Small Dog, Powermax, MacConnection and MacMall. They may stock these models, and may also have refurbished options (Small Dog and Powermax).

I wanted one with 8GB, but Amazon didn't have any last week when I ordered. I really don't do anything that requires that much ram, so I just caved in and bought. The sale price was too good for me.

Macmall sells it for $1219 which at first glance seems like an awesome deal, but then you realize the tax is nearly $100 and they throw some recycling fee on top of that.

B&H was selling it for 1267 tax and shipping free a few weeks ago, but they sold out and they still haven't got any more in stock and they jacked the price back up to 1299.
