200$ off-contract iPhone
i just read an article about apple producing a low-cost iPhone for 2014 at a 200$ starting point but i just think this is really unlikely. What do you guys think?

I have read it, what's your point?
I agree that there's something 'psychologically unsatisfying in buying a 3-year old phone', but what do you think this 'new' cheap phone will look like? It might be new to the market but it will have the interior of the iPhone 4 with probably 8GB of storage. So it's technically 'new' but it really is the old phone. With the iPod at $299, the cheap iPhone will have to take a serious hit in order to make it worthwhile and still keep iPod sales strong. Also, Apple isn't in the business of selling cheap. Latest case in point, iPad Mini. Overpriced for far less than what they could've done. |
