Help me, iPod wont update/restore

ive tried everything to unlock my ipod but nothing works ive done all the steps like pressing the home nd power button nd licking restore but then my computer removes the ipod nd doesnt restore it..i forgot my password nd now i cant figure out a way to unlock it...can anyone help me please!!

You'll need to do a DFU restore.

Turn iPod off and plug in power as your holding the home but and wait for plug into iTunes shows up

ive tried just about everything nd nothing works

thank you but i ve tried that already nd at first i thought it was finally working but no...it said it was going to take 2 hrs nd i was like ok

i checked on it 30 min later nd the time didn't go down..then i checked on it again an hours later nd the computer didn't show my iPod was connected to iTunes...

i tried it again and the same thing happened.. i really don't want to buy a new one
