Change incorrect email address

My friend has an iPhone 4S. He put in the wrong email address when he was setting up his phone. He is now unable to change that incorrect email. It is not a real email (one letter too many to his true account). Any idea how to change that?

Go into mail and delete that account. Then he can add the right one.

Sorry...I wasn't clear in my post.

It is the email address that is used for the App Store. So he needs the phone to allow him to change that email.

Can't he just go into App Store sign out of the incorrect email and then put in the right one?

It won't let him in because he has the wrong password and he can't reset it because of course the emails being sent to an unknown email.
