Can you determine the date of a Hard Drive Installation?
I recently purchased a used 2009 Mac Pro off of eBay. I went to install a new WD Black Caviar 1 TB for the system drive and noticed there was the same type installed. It looks brand new. I questioned the eBay seller (non-original owner) but he didn't have any knowledge of the age of the drive. Is there anyway to determine the date of the drive installation through some type of diagnostic test?
Thanks |

I don't know about the date of when it was installed BUT, using an app like smartreporter will tell you how many hrs it has been powered on, on/off cycles, etc
